Technical Trainer – IT Cooling Systems
Service Center Division
As a Technical Trainer in the Service Center Division (SCD), you’ll play a key role in developing and delivering impactful training programs that equip MEPPI employees, Authorized Service Providers (ASPs), customers, and sales partners with the knowledge needed to support and service our products—including IT cooling systems and HVAC-related technologies. You’ll also provide technical support and manage key service-related processes such as product updates and RMAs.
Travel Expectations – Travel up to 50% to customer sites, field offices, ASP locations, and partner facilities across North America to deliver training and provide technical support.
What You’ll Do:
- Training Delivery – Develop and lead classroom, factory, and on-site technical training for MEPPI employees, Authorized Service Providers (ASPs), customers, and sales channel partners, with a focus on IT cooling and HVAC-related products.
- Program Development – Create structured training materials, including presentations, manuals, and hands-on exercises. Continuously refine content to meet learner needs and reflect product updates.
- Technical Support – Provide expert-level technical support to field service teams, customers, and ASPs via phone, email, and field visits, particularly for IT cooling systems.
- Certification & Recordkeeping – Maintain accurate training records and track internal and external certifications, including those required by third-party programs and regulatory bodies.
- Product & Process Updates – Disseminate product updates and service bulletins to field personnel and sales teams to ensure technical alignment and readiness.
- Returned Material Evaluation – Manage administrative and technical aspects of the Returned Material Authorization (RMA) process, including component evaluations.
- ISO & Compliance – Participate in ISO action teams to maintain quality compliance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Department Collaboration – Partner with managers across departments to identify training needs and implement technical or refresher training programs.
- Customer Engagement – Promote MEPPI’s IT cooling capabilities through professional, technically-informed interactions with customers and service providers.
- Brand Representation – Serve as a subject matter expert and ambassador for MEPPI’s service excellence and product reliability.
What you'll bring:
- Education & Experience – Bachelor’s degree in engineering, HVAC technology, or a related technical field with 3–5 years of experience in technical service, support, or training roles. Equivalent technical training and field experience will also be considered.
- Product & Technical Expertise – Advanced knowledge of HVAC and IT cooling systems, with hands-on experience in equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance. EPA 608 Certification preferred.
- Training & Development – Proven ability to design and deliver technical training programs across classroom, factory, and on-site settings. Skilled at developing structured training content and facilitating both lecture and hands-on learning.
- Service Support & Process Management – Experience supporting field service organizations and managing processes such as product updates, RMA evaluations, and documentation. Familiar with service provider enablement and customer technical support.
- Communication & Presentation – Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences, including internal teams, customers, and service partners.
- Strategic & Collaborative Mindset – Able to partner with multiple departments to identify training needs, implement refresher programs, and contribute to ISO quality initiatives. Promotes a positive image of MEPPI products and services.
- Technical Proficiency – Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint), with experience maintaining training records and leveraging tools to manage training delivery and performance metrics.
