Shipper Receiver - 2nd shift

Powering Operational Excellence Through Reliable Shipping & Receiving Support!

MEPPI’s Switchgear Division (SWGD) is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Shipper Receiver to support critical warehouse, inventory, and logistics operations. In this role, you will ensure the accurate receiving, stocking, tracking, and shipment of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment that support SWGD manufacturing operations. You’ll help maintain inventory accuracy, coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, and support efficient material flow throughout the facility.


What You'll Do

Manage Inventory Transactions: Utilize the business system to process purchase order data, verify inventory locations, review on-hand quantities, and perform location transfers as needed.

Support Shipping & Receiving Operations: Process shipping and receiving transactions within the business system, including scanning packing slips and documentation, printing labels, and ensuring inbound materials are properly identified.

Verify Customer Shipments: Review Customer Order Pick Lists and shipping documents for accuracy; identify discrepancies, coordinate corrections with production, obtain required approvals, and ensure proper documentation accompanies shipments.

Coordinate Transportation Activities: Communicate and coordinate with truck drivers to facilitate safe and efficient loading and unloading activities.

Train & Support Shipping Functions: Assist with shipping coordination and train team members on shipping procedures while safely utilizing hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and cranes.

Receive & Process Incoming Materials: Receive deliveries, verify shipments against purchase orders, uncrate materials, and move inventory to designated storage locations.

Prepare & Load Shipments: Package components for shipment and load circuit breakers, parts, and associated materials onto trucks in accordance with shipping requirements.

Maintain Storage Areas: Organize and maintain storage areas for materials and parts associated with switchgear shipments.

Verify Deliveries & Resolve Discrepancies: Count and verify received materials against supplier packing lists and work with Buyers to resolve discrepancies.

Support Quality Standards: Inspect incoming materials and packaging for damage and immediately report issues to Quality Control, Purchasing, and Supervisors.

Manage Shipping Documentation: Review bills of lading, shipping paperwork, and packing lists to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Prevent Short Shipments: Investigate and locate missing materials to ensure shipments are complete and customer commitments are met.

Prepare Supplier Shipments: Package and prepare auxiliary switches and related materials for shipment to panel suppliers.

Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Follow C-TPAT, JSOX, MSDS, and company procedures while ensuring all required transactions are properly documented.

Support Department Leadership: Assist Supervisors and team members with daily operational requirements.

Promote Division Excellence: Further the positive and professional image of SWGD through effective interaction with internal departments, customers, and vendors.

Champion Safety & Quality: Maintain a strong understanding of MEPPI’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies and apply them consistently in daily work.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of warehousing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Technical Skills

  • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse equipment
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to operate powered equipment, including forklifts and cranes
  • Ability to stand, sit, crawl, squat, kneel, twist, bend, and reach overhead as required
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to pass a medical examination for Commercial Driver Fitness Determination to operate company vehicles
  • Valid driver’s license required
