POSITION SUMMARY
Perform routine manual and clerical duties in inventory areas such as receiving, stocking, expediting parts through receiving, shipping materials, parts, supplies, and/or equipment to support HVSD and EDD operations. Enter information into the business system to process purchase orders and ensure inventory accuracy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Use the business system to process all purchase order related data, look up locations, on-hand quantities and perform the location move function as needed.
- Perform the shipping and receiving functions in the business system, including but not limited to scanning packing slips and other needed documentation to required personnel. Print part number labels and ensure they are properly attached to incoming parts.
- Review Customer Order Pick Lists and shipping paperwork for errors and inform production if errors are found, obtain proper sign off, and affix proper documentation to shipments.
- Coordinate and direct truck drivers in preparation for loading and unloading.
- Receive incoming material from trucks, verify receipt of correct materials, uncrate materials, and move materials to proper locations.
- Load gas circuit breakers and any associated parts onto trucks. Prepare and load any boxes in conjunction with gas circuit breakers that are shipped disassembled.
- Maintain the storage areas for parts associated with the shipment of gas circuit breakers.
- Check, count, and verify deliveries against supplier packing lists.
- Investigate and follow-up with buyers on purchase order discrepancies.
- Ensure that packing materials and parts are received without damage. Report any damage to Quality Control (QC), the buyer, and supervisor immediately.
- Prepare and package aux switches for pick up by panel suppliers.
- Comply with C-TPAT and JSOX policy directives. Process items that fall into the MSDS procedure.
- Follow the Company’s procedures to record all transactions on paper or in the Business System.
- Support and assist the Material Center Supervisors as needed.
- Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Manufacturing Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School or GED, plus two years of warehousing experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Applicable safety/operations training required to operate certain machinery and equipment (e.g., fork truck, crane).
- Intermediate computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
