Powering Innovation, Delivering Excellence: Leading the Future of Critical Power Solutions!

MEPPI’s Service Center Division (SCD) is looking for a talented Field Service Technician II to provide service, troubleshooting, and repair support for single- and three-phase Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and peripherals. In this role, you’ll deliver hands-on technical service, guide less experienced technicians, and ensure our customers receive reliable, world-class support—even in critical situations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver On-Site Service: Perform start-up, preventative and remedial maintenance, field modifications, and testing of power quality products at customer locations.

  • Be the Customer’s Expert: Provide technical support to internal teams, third-party service providers, and end users.

  • Test & Document with Precision: Inspect and analyze failed products, components, and systems before return to the factory, documenting operational status and defects.

  • Stay Ready for Emergencies: Schedule and provide on-call technical support and field service to keep customers protected.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with other MEPPI departments to identify product improvements that enhance performance and protection.

  • Drive Projects Forward: Attend daily project meetings and provide input as a key service representative.

  • Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose and repair routine UPS product failures independently; escalate complex issues as needed.

  • Advocate for Upgrades: Recommend service offerings such as battery replacements to support customers’ long-term system reliability.

  • Solve at the Board Level: Troubleshoot UPS malfunctions down to the board with minimal supervision.

  • Keep Records Clean: Maintain detailed service records and deliver comprehensive analysis reports on issues, inspections, and repairs.

  • Mentor the Next Generation: Provide guidance to less experienced technicians in troubleshooting and system failures.

  • Stay Professional: Submit accurate, timely expense reports in accordance with company policies.

What You Bring:

  • Education & Experience: Associate’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related technical field, plus 4+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic products—or equivalent education and experience.

  • UPS Expertise: Intermediate knowledge of UPS products, services, and peripherals, including familiarity with electrical systems used in data centers.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electronic test equipment, including operation, data collection, and reporting.

  • Networking Basics: Foundational knowledge of communication and networking protocols.

  • Certifications: OSHA-10 Construction and NFPA-70E certifications required.

  • Analytical Skills: Advanced problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills for engaging customers, suppliers, and colleagues.

  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to read detailed schematics and one-line facility drawings.

  • Technology Skills: Advanced computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems.

What’s in It for You?

  • Competitive Compensation: Salary based on experience, with opportunities to advance as you build expertise.

  • Comprehensive Health Coverage: MEPPI covers 90% of medical, dental, and vision premiums.

  • Secure Retirement: 401(k) plan with up to 4% company match.

  • Generous Paid Time Off: Vacation accrual after 90 days, plus 12 paid holidays annually.

  • Career Growth: Access to professional training, certifications, and tuition assistance to expand your skills.

  • Employee Perks: Profit sharing and discounts on MEPPI products and services.
