MEPPI’s Electrical Distribution Division (EDD) is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer II to serve as the primary interface between customers and EDD, while also coordinating with the High Voltage Switchgear Division (HVSD) for assigned partner accounts. In this role, you’ll manage proposals, orders, and customer relationships while driving growth through technical expertise and strong business development skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop Winning Proposals: Review customer specifications and drawings to prepare technical and commercial proposals, including product cost estimates, margins, and market pricing.
  • Promote Standardization: Collaborate with customers to drive acceptance of standardized circuit breaker designs.
  • Drive Sales Growth: Manage sales of new products, replacement parts, and product services to meet customer needs.
  • Build Relationships: Partner with Sales Representatives to develop new business opportunities and maintain existing customer relationships.
  • Negotiate with Confidence: Conduct and support customer proposal negotiations to secure business while protecting MEPPI’s interests.
  • Process Orders Efficiently: Confirm customer orders align with proposals, enter them into the system, initiate order processing, and document all contract requirements and commitments.
  • Coordinate with HVSD: Collaborate with HVSD Sales to align sales efforts for partner customers.
  • Track Bids & Feedback: Monitor each bid from initiation to close, gather feedback, and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Report Results: Prepare accurate sales-related reports to inform management and track progress.
  • Engage Customers Directly: Travel to customer sites and trade shows as needed to promote MEPPI products and capabilities.
  • Adapt to Market Needs: Identify shifting market conditions and work with EDD teams to address opportunities and challenges.
  • Present with Impact: Deliver technical presentations to customers on company products and services.
  • Create Sales Tools: Develop sales aids and presentation materials for both internal and external audiences.
  • Monitor Performance: Track Sales Plan versus actuals, adjusting strategies as needed based on market conditions or management requests.
  • Support Field Service: Coordinate and monitor field service requests with customers and HVSD until completion.

What You Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience with highly engineered and customized products, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Skills:
    • Proven ability to interpret customer specifications and negotiate effectively.
    • Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems.
