Inventory Technician - 2nd Shift (Temp to Hire) - Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc.
MEPPI's High Voltage Switch Gear Division (HVSD) is looking for an Inventory Tech I to work on leak test tanks and other cast parts and document results as well as clean, move, and assess condition of cast tanks, and perform minor rework according to MRR disposition instructions
Essential Functions
- Perform one or more repetitive assembly steps per operation instructions.
- Position parts and test fixtures by hand using hand tools and/or portable powered tools.
- Move parts by using overhead cranes, pallet trucks, dollies and carts.
- Test tanks and other cast parts for leaks, using a specified gas and various leak detection equipment.
- Operate vacuum pumps and other gas handling equipment to evacuate, fill, and reclaim or exhaust gas.
- Record test results on inspection charts, tags, and components and request identification of non-conformances on MRR’s.
- Maintain all equipment in good working order.
- Perform housekeeping duties by maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe workstation environment.
- Clean parts with water, detergents, solvents, cloth towels, etc and check parts for specific defects as instructed.
- Rework deficient parts as directed.
- Follow production schedule as directed by Material Center Supervisor.
- Support and assist the Material Center Supervisor as needed.
- Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
- Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Manufacturing Department.
- Know MEPPI’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.
Qualifications
- High School or GED, plus two years of work experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Applicable safety/operations training required to operate certain machinery and equipment; e.g., fork truck, crane.
- Basic computer/data entry experience.
