MEPPI's High Voltage Service Division (HVSD) is looking for an experienced Inspector - 2nd shift to join our growing team! In this exciting role you will perform inspection of incoming and sub-assembly components and upon close supervision, perform inspection of breaker components compared to specification.
Essential Functions
- Understand and interpret manufacturing and QA Department procedures.
- Inspect received goods compared to specifications using inspection tools, equipment, and instruments.
- Perform inspections of electrical panels compared to specifications, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Inspect sample(s) per Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) requirements.
- Assist sub-assembly Technicians in solving minor assembly problems and drawing interpretation.
- Verify that open MRR lines are closed in a reasonable time frame.
- Perform inspection of incoming and sub-assembly components and perform inspection of breaker components.
- Assist QA supplier quality personnel and Inspection Supervisor in the disposition of MRR’s
- Review sub-assembly paperwork for completeness and accuracy.
- Perform and/or coordinate repairs on components and assemblies for compliance to specifications.
- Document and investigate returned products from the field (RG/IG) as required.
- Identify unlabeled components.
- Interpret manufacturing information for investigation of parts or assembly problems.
- Assist in the evaluation of items for vendor part certification.
- Support and assist the Inspection Supervisor as needed.
- Assist with on-the-job hands-on training.
- Perform SF6 gas leak checks and gas quality measurements.
- Support and make recommendations to improve company policies and procedures.
- Further the goals and positive, professional image of the QA Department.
- Know MEPPI’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.
Qualifications
- High school or trade school graduate with minimum 2 years' experience in the Quality Assurance/ Inspection field or demonstrated skills or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience working with mechanical and electrical drawings, using measurement equipment, and test equipment.
- Experience with GD&T and coordinating measuring machines.
- Developed math and trigonometry skills.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Basic computer/data entry experience.
- Ability to work 2nd shift - 3PM -11:30PM
