MEPPI is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Project Application Engineer II to support both engineered and standard solutions within our Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD). This role will lead the proposal, project planning, and delivery process while serving as the primary point of contact for customer communications and technical coordination.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the Proposal Process:
    Review RFQ details and collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal departments to prepare comprehensive quotations, including specification compliance, pricing, Bills of Material, cost of ownership documentation, drawings, scope of work, and procedures.
  • Manage Project Planning:
    Develop, maintain, and monitor project plans that define goals, schedules, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and contingency plans. Ensure customer commitments are fulfilled, and project costs stay within budget.
  • Provide Technical Application Support:
    Offer engineering expertise to internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support Onsite Services:
    Assist other departments with technical support for onsite service activities when required.
  • Represent MEPPI Independently:
    Participate in technical meetings, site walkthroughs, seminars, and presentations to promote CPSD products and capabilities.
  • Deliver Technical Training:
    Provide product and application training to CPSD sales channels independently and effectively.
  • Oversee Project Communications and Documentation:
    Track and communicate project status, technical requirements, and customer interactions. Ensure all documentation is handled in compliance with MEPPI’s quality system.
  • Recommend Product Applications:
    Identify and suggest appropriate uses for CPSD products in customer solutions.
  • Develop and Review Technical Drawings:
    Create, present, and evaluate electrical, schematic, system, and mechanical drawings to support project deliverables.
  • Promote CPSD Solutions:
    Create effective written and verbal communications to describe, promote, and support CPSD product offerings.
  • Mitigate Risk:
    Work with internal teams to identify and reduce risks and exposure related to customer and vendor engagements.
  • Control and Evaluate Project Costs:
    Collaborate across departments to assess and mitigate costs throughout the project cycle.
  • Lead Factory Witness Tests:
    Organize agendas, manage customer communication, and oversee successful execution of factory witness tests.
  • Identify Product and Process Improvements:
    Recommend cost reduction initiatives and contribute to the development of new product opportunities.

What You Bring:

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience:
    3–5 years of experience in applications engineering and/or technical sales in power quality or distribution systems—or equivalent education and experience.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    Strong understanding of UPS systems, batteries, power quality equipment, and distribution switchgear.
  • Drawing Proficiency:
    Ability to read, interpret, and produce technical drawings and documentation.
  • Communication & Presentation Skills:
    Advanced interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to effectively engage with customers, teams, and suppliers.
  • Analytical Thinking:
    Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical and commercial challenges.
  • Technical Tools:
    Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD software, and ERP business systems.
