Are you an innovative problem-solver with a strong background in IT networks and infrastructure? Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking an Audio Visual Systems Engineer II – Diamond Vision Systems Division (DVD). In this role, you’ll play a critical part in designing and supporting IT networks, network gear, and integrated AV control systems for LED Large Scale Video Screens (LSVS). You’ll be involved in every phase of the business—from concept and design through implementation and ongoing support—helping to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance IT and AV solutions for the Diamond Vision Division (DVD).
This position will report to the DVD Engineering and Product Design Manager and is a hybrid role based in Warrendale, PA.
What You’ll Do:
- Design custom AV control systems, IT systems, and networks for LSVS projects in cooperation with DVD sales, engineers, suppliers, and industry consultants that meet the needs of customers and project contract documents.
- Create AutoCAD and Visio drawings/sketches, such as system blocks, one-line signal diagrams, rack layouts, and content layout maps, to document AV control systems.
- Create the technical purchasing requirements for AV control systems, IT systems, and network components for DVD projects.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of customer systems documentation, such as user manuals, service guides, procedural instructions, as-built drawings, spare parts lists, and troubleshooting processes.
- Install, wire, and configure racks and equipment for LED display and AV control systems in the field or DVD shop.
- Perform and document commissioning test results of LED displays, AV control systems, and IT systems, and networks to verify compliance to MEPPI standards and all applicable project contract documents.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of LED display and AV control system issues as needed to support the project management team and customers.
- Collaborate with customers, consultants, and equipment vendors to develop the most efficient equipment configurations and bill of materials for LED display AV control systems, IT systems, and networks.
- Collaborate with project managers to conduct and/or arrange customer hardware/software training and onsite event support for LED display systems that satisfies contractual requirements. Provide customer training for maintenance and service of LED displays and AV control systems.
- Support DVD sales, customers, and industry consultants to specify, estimate, and propose efficient control system architectures, IT systems, and networks that promote the benefits of DVD display systems.
- Continually research and study AV control systems, IT systems, and networks to build a strong understanding of these systems.
- Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Diamond Vision Division by effective dealings with customers, partners, and internal departments.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT or comparable technical degree with 3 to 5 years of experience in IT and audiovisual technologies, or equivalent education and experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, computer IT systems, networking, fiber optics, communications, data structures, electrical, digital signage equipment, and AV hardware/software.
- Intermediate interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required to communicate with customers, suppliers and employees.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize activities and work will in a team environment.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and material.
- Advanced computer skills, emphasizing knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
