Operational Excellence Director

POSITION SUMMARY

MEPPI's Corporate Development Department is looking for an Operational Excellence Director to work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to create, plan, and execute operational excellence strategies for business level operations that support and drive organizational clarity and effectiveness. In addition, the successful candidate will identify and implement strategies to optimize the performance of the business level operations and functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • In collaboration with senior leadership, create, plan and implement a business level operational excellence strategy for the Company and business units designed to meet customer obligations and commitments, and drive operational efficiency and effectiveness by focusing on optimizing tools, processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand business objectives and priorities to create and to promote the deployment of improvement initiatives and adoption of change.
  • In collaboration with division leadership, develop and execute operational excellence strategies that enhance manufacturing and service operations, aligning with the company’s overall business goals.
  • Perform analysis and investigations to identify opportunities for improvement and develop operational solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams (both internal resources and external consultants) on large-scale process improvement projects.
  • Develop and track KPI’s to measure progress and success on process improvement initiatives and, measure against industry benchmarks. Prepare reports and presentations on the status of process improvement and change management initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain project plans in accordance with established budget and timelines.
  • Develop operational excellence tools and processes to be utilized by divisions in implementing and sustaining performance.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on Organizational Excellence principles, methodologies and tools and coach other employees and teams.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement teams and projects that promote collaboration, information sharing, process improvement, education, problem-solving and best practices.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Company by effective dealings with customers, vendors, and internal departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, engineering or related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience developing and implementing operational excellence/continuous improvement initiatives, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Formal training and experience with continuous improvement programs such as lean/JIT, 5S, KATA, and Six Sigma.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (DMAIC, SIPOC, VOC, process mapping, VSM, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required to communicate with employees, executives, vendors, customers, and industry experts at all levels.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex ideas and strategies.
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products.
