MEPPI’s High Voltage Switchgear Division (HVSD) is seeking a skilled Material Handler to play a vital role in supporting our manufacturing operations. From moving materials to keeping inventory organized, you’ll be an essential part of ensuring our operations run smoothly.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensure Safe Deliveries: Load, unload, and safely transport materials between MEPPI facilities, maintaining the highest standards to prevent damage.
- Operate Equipment: Use forklifts, cranes, and other machinery to handle materials efficiently and safely.
- Manage Inventory: Stock and maintain the Keystone Drive WIP area, return materials, and keep inventory items dispersed and organized.
- Support Production: Crate, uncrate, and wash parts using hand and power tools. Tag and move materials to their proper locations for manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate Logistics: Deliver and pick up interoffice mail and maintain stock areas for bins, pallets, A-frames, and stackable racks.
- Collaborate and Improve: Assist the HVSD Supervisor, suggest process improvements, and contribute to the team’s success.
- Follow Policies: Actively support MEPPI’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies to create a safe and efficient workplace.
What You Bring:
- Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED with at least two years of relevant experience—or equivalent education and experience.
- Skills:
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Basic computer/data entry knowledge.
- Ability to operate powered equipment like forklifts and cranes (with applicable safety/operations training).
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, crawl, squat, kneel, bend, and lift up to 35 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments for extended periods.
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a Commercial Driver Fitness Determination medical exam for operating company vehicles.
