POSITION SUMMARY
Perform service support activities, troubleshoot, and repair IT Cooling products and electro-mechanical equipment. Schedule technical sales or service support for customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform on-site customer service of IT Cooling products to include start-up service, preventative and remedial maintenance, field modification, and testing.
- Troubleshoot refrigeration and electro-mechanical equipment using schematic and mechanical drawings, procedure and troubleshooting documents, and hand-held and computer-based test equipment. Perform repairs or replacements of equipment as necessary.
- Perform refrigerant system repair work when needed, including leak detection, reclamation of refrigerant, evacuation, and charging of R410A.
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC electric, control systems, and engineering products.
- Perform refrigerant-related tasks such as reclaiming, measuring, charging, pressure testing, and evacuating HVAC units.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers, including third party service organizations, and end users.
- Inspect and test returned products and components and systems to determine defects and/or operational status.
- Schedule and provide emergency technical support and field service on an on-call basis.
- Maintain service records and documentation of services provided. Prepare necessary documents related to installation, testing, repair, and customer support.
- Provide field support and assistance with power equipment projects as required.
- Submit accurate expense reports into the Company for reimbursement on a timely manner in accordance with Company policies.
- Further the goals and a positive image of the Division by conducting business with other MEPPI departments, customers, and suppliers in a timely and cooperative manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree in HVAC, Electrical Electronics, or related technical field with 2-5 years of experience with troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems, or equivalent education and experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of HVAC systems as gained through experience or successful completion of technical training courses.
- EPA Section 608 certification.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency of mechanical and electronic test equipment
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and bills of materials.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced interpersonal communication skills required to communicate with customers, employees, and vendors.
- Intermediate computer skills with emphasis of Microsoft Office products, timekeeping systems, and expense reporting systems.
