MEPPI’s High Voltage Switchgear Division (HVSD) is seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to lead and optimize our production, manufacturing, purchasing, material planning, warehousing, shipping, and receiving functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe, efficient delivery of high-quality products that exceed customer expectations while cultivating a positive, collaborative work environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and Inspire: Oversee the Operations Department, including production, scheduling, manufacturing, material planning, and logistics.
- Drive Production Excellence: Guide production efforts to meet cost-effective, high-quality results aligned with customer commitments.
- Optimize Purchasing and Inventory: Streamline procurement processes, focusing on cost efficiency, production support, and robust supply chain performance.
- Manage Material Flow: Proactively address any performance issues across material planning, warehousing, shipping, and receiving.
- Foreign Trade Zone & Compliance: Operate and ensure compliance within the division’s Foreign Trade Zone.
- Employee Development: Foster team growth through training, performance reviews, and educational opportunities.
- Champion Safety: Implement and support division and company-wide safety initiatives.
- Enhance Productivity: Drive JIT and Kaizen initiatives to promote a culture of innovation and efficiency.
- Support Equipment Repairs: Coordinate equipment repairs and investigations for a smooth operational flow.
- Track and Report: Prepare weekly and monthly production reports, and manage departmental budgets effectively.
- Build Positive Relations: Elevate MEPPI’s reputation through collaborative and professional interactions.
What You Bring:
- Educational Foundation & Leadership: Bachelor's in Business, Engineering, or related field, with 10+ years in manufacturing and 5+ years in operations management (or equivalent).
- Manufacturing Mastery: Expertise in custom manufacturing, inventory management, and familiarity with gas-insulated circuit breaker technology is a plus.
- Leadership & People Skills: Proven ability to inspire, communicate, and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Analytical Savvy: Strong problem-solving skills, able to proactively identify solutions and drive improvements.
- Tech Fluency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and experience with modern business systems for streamlined operations.
