Senior Program Manager – Lead High-Impact Transportation Projects

Are you a strategic problem-solver with a passion for delivering complex transportation projects? Join MEPPI as a Senior Program Manager, where you’ll serve as the key liaison between MEPPI and our customers, ensuring seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Customer Engagement – Act as the primary liaison, meeting regularly with customers to discuss project status, open issues, and contract negotiations.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Coordination – Work with engineering, quality, production, procurement, and field service teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage Project Deliverables – Oversee program schedules, contract compliance, manufacturing timelines, and sub-system deliveries.
  • Support Global Collaboration – Partner with MELCO teams in Tokyo, Itami, and Nagasaki to align objectives and ensure project success.
  • Optimize Supply Chain & Procurement – Oversee procurement strategies and manage subcontractor relationships to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Oversee Warranty & Spare Parts – Manage warranty claims, equipment repairs, and spare parts inventories in coordination with MELCO and internal teams.
  • Develop & Implement Solutions – Identify risks, develop strategies, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Lead Complex Projects – Guide and mentor project/program managers in a matrix organization for larger, more intricate projects.
  • Support Continuous Improvement – Actively participate in process enhancements and operational efficiencies across transportation projects.

What You Bring:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical/commercial field, plus 8+ years of project management experience.
  • Technical Knowledge: General understanding of AC/DC motors, circuit protection devices, propulsion systems, power conversion equipment, and networks.
  • Industry Standards Expertise: Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, NEMA, UL, NFPA, and other industrial standards.
  • Strong Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to influence and lead in a matrix management structure.
  • Problem-Solving & Negotiation Skills: Advanced communication and analytical abilities to resolve complex technical and contractual issues.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) for reporting, analysis, and scheduling.
