Position Summary
Provide installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, repair and training for MEPPI supplied equipment for the Electrical Distribution Division (EDD).
Essential Functions
- Follow plans for work to be performed at customer sites. Coordinate planned work with customers and contractors.
- Perform or provide direction of installation, testing, trouble-shooting and repair work at customer sites.
- Conduct onsite investigation of equipment performance to determine cause or contributing factors.
- Communicate findings and proposed resolutions to customers regarding MEPPI-supplied equipment.
- Conduct customer and contractor training for installation, operation and maintenance of MEPPI equipment.
- Prepare documentation and reports regarding customer equipment problems and site visits.
- Communicate findings and collaborate with division support personnel to determine source of problem for repair, replacement or other corrective action.
- Coordinate problem resolution with division support personnel to expedite problem resolution.
- Provide technical guidance to MEPPI customers by phone and/or in person in the areas relating to installing, testing, maintaining and repairing customer equipment.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technology field with a minimum 3 years of experience with assembly/manufacturing/maintenance of circuit breakers, or equivalent education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing and repair of circuit breakers or similar products.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics and bills of materials.
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
- Advanced interpersonal communication skills required to communicate with customers, employees, and vendors.
