Assembly Technician I

MEPPI's Electrical Distribution Division(EDD) is seeking a Production Assembler to perform basic mechanical assembly and electrical connection tasks for MEPPI products. This role ensures products are properly prepared for electrical and mechanical assembly, testing, and shipment while maintaining high-quality standards. Please note that this position will be moving to our new facility in Beaver in 2026. More details will be discussed during your interview.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assemble Components: Build frames, bushings, and sub-assemblies for circuit breakers and parts orders according to company specifications, drawings, and work orders.
  • Perform Electrical Connections: Complete basic electrical connections on products using diagrams and company standards.
  • Prepare Products for Shipment: Perform ship preparation, including applying RTV sealant, touch-up painting, and wrapping components such as breakers, bushings, and cabinets.
  • Package Products: Securely package breakers for shipment to ensure safe delivery.
  • Operate Tools & Equipment Safely: Use various hand and power tools correctly and efficiently to assemble sub-assemblies and products.
  • Read & Interpret Technical Documents: Understand technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, and bills of materials to ensure precise assembly.
  • Inspect for Quality:
    • Operate specialized test equipment and measurement devices to inspect subassemblies and assemblies for defects.
    • Identify and correct material and process defects to meet MEPPI’s quality standards.
  • Complete Documentation: Accurately complete process check sheets, daily production sheets, and other required paperwork per company procedures.
  • Ensure Safety & Quality Compliance:
    • Follow MEPPI’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies.
    • Be able to discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact daily work.

What You Bring:

  • Education & Experience:
    • High School Diploma or GED, plus two years of relevant work experience—or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical & Mechanical Skills:
    • Basic understanding of computer applications.
    • Strong mechanical ability, demonstrated by proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Safety & Equipment Training:
    • Applicable training required for operation of forklifts, cranes, and other machinery.
