MEPPI’s Service Center Division (SCD) is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Field Service Technician – HVAC to perform and lead on-site services for our advanced Cooling products. This hands-on role is key to ensuring our customers’ systems are installed, commissioned, and maintained to the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Deliver Expert On-Site Services: Perform project site coordination, installations, start-ups, preventive maintenance, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of Cooling systems at SCD customer locations.
Lead the Way: Direct contractors and MEPPI-designated personnel through all phases of service projects to meet site requirements safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Be the Technical Resource: Provide responsive and expert technical support via telephone and email to internal and external customers, including third-party service providers and end users.
Develop Future Experts: Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and authorized service providers to troubleshoot and repair complex IT Cooling product issues.
Solve Complex Challenges: Troubleshoot and complete advanced system installations and repairs independently, ensuring top-quality results.
Support Customers Anytime: Provide scheduled and on-call emergency field service and technical assistance to maintain critical cooling operations.
Collaborate and Improve: Work with representatives from other MEPPI divisions to identify, resolve, and prevent equipment or service-related issues and contribute to the planning and development of new products.
Inspect and Diagnose: Test and evaluate returned products, components, and systems to determine defects and recommend corrective actions.
Document with Precision: Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and test results for all customer and field activities.
Promote Long-Term Value: Recommend preventive maintenance services and system upgrades to enhance reliability and protect customers’ capital investments.
Operate Professionally: Submit accurate expense reports in a timely manner and conduct all business in alignment with MEPPI’s standards of integrity and professionalism.
Education: Associate degree in HVAC, Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 8 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC or Cooling systems.
3–5 years of experience working with Mitsubishi Electric technology—or equivalent education and experience.
Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification required.
Technical Expertise:
Advanced knowledge of Cooling products and services, with specialized expertise in Mitsubishi Electric technology.
Proficiency in the use of mechanical and electronic test equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and bills of materials.
Analytical Skills: Advanced problem-solving and diagnostic abilities with demonstrated success resolving complex technical challenges.
Leadership: Developed ability to lead and direct the work of others on-site and in emergency situations.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support customers, peers, and partners.
Technology Proficiency: Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office applications and MRP/ERP business systems.
Requirements: Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to travel and work at customer sites as required.
