MEPPI’s High Voltage Switchgear Division (HVSD) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Material Center Supervisor to lead the movement, handling, kitting, expediting, assembly, leak testing, and inventory control for divisions supported by the Material Center. In this role, you will ensure efficient material flow, maintain compliance with company policies, and foster a positive work environment.
What You’ll Do
Lead Daily Operations: Supervise the activities of Material Center staff to ensure production materials and sub-assembly jobs are scheduled, received, kitted, moved, and handled efficiently according to SOPs.
Plan & Assign Work: Develop weekly work schedules and assign daily tasks based on production requirements while promoting positive employee relations.
Ensure Documentation Accuracy: Receive and review all job paperwork and verify proper completion of all job documentation.
Develop Your Team: Train and cross-train employees, provide continuing education opportunities, and conduct performance reviews in line with MEPPI policies.
Drive Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality excellence.
Maintain Safety Standards: Ensure employees work safely and follow safety procedures; conduct accident investigations and lead start-of-shift meetings focused on safety, assignments, and procedural updates.
Manage Inventory Transactions: Ensure all material transactions are recorded accurately on paper or in the business system; enforce Material Center procedures.
Support Quality & Timeliness: Expedite VRMAs and MRRs promptly and maintain a clean, organized Material Center.
What You Bring
Education: Associate’s degree in Material Management, Business, Operations, Logistics, or related field, plus a minimum of two years of prior supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication: Developed verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal and group presentation abilities.
Technology Proficiency: Developed computer skills with MS Office and ERP systems, preferably Syteline.
