MEPPI’s High Voltage Switchgear Division (HVSD) is seeking an experienced and forward thinking Material Center Manager to lead all warehouse operations. In this key leadership role, you will manage the full range of material handling, picking and kitting, inventory control, subassembly, leak testing, and material transaction activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, safety, and alignment with production and customer commitments. thinking -thinking

This position is based in New Galilee, PA. Please note that the New Galilee facility is currently under construction. Until the new site is fully operational, the role will temporarily operate out of our Freedom, PA warehouse located at 2526 Lovi Road, Building 2, Freedom, PA 15042.


What You’ll Do

New Site Preparation: Assist with layout, material flow and other tasks required to establish a fully op0eration warehouse

Drive Material Center Performance: Evaluate Material Center effectiveness in meeting delivery, accuracy, and throughput goals; take corrective action to resolve performance gaps.


Lead Daily Operations: Manage all Material Center functions—including subassembly, leak test, material transactions, and delivery of components—to meet Production Schedule requirements and maximize labor and material efficiency.


Supervise & Develop Staff: Lead daily activities of Material Center personnel with emphasis on positive employee relations. Train, cross train, and develop employees to build a versatile and high performing team.


Strengthen Inventory Control Processes: Recommend improvements to inventory methods, procedures, and accuracy initiatives to enhance productivity.


Manage Inventory Accuracy: Oversee location audits, cycle counts, FTZ operations, and annual physical inventories. Analyze inventory reports and coordinate disposal of obsolete material.


Ensure Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety procedures, conduct accident investigations, and integrate environmental, safety, and quality practices into daily operations.


Conduct New Employee Orientations: Provide training on product, process, safety, quality, and environmental guidelines for new hires.


Document Operational Standards: Ensure procedures are prepared, updated, and followed for all Material Center operations.


Maintain Material Center Supplies: Manage supply levels for tools, safety materials, packaging, cleaning supplies, and other shop necessities.


Ensure Clean & Organized Facilities: Maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and equipment readiness.


Evaluate Employee Performance: Conduct performance reviews with emphasis on attendance, quality, productivity, teamwork, and adherence to policies.


Support Wage Program Administration: Operate in accordance with shop wage programs, including testing and qualification of employees.


Support Reporting & Planning: Assist in preparing weekly/monthly reports, departmental budgets, staffing plans, and capital budget proposals.


Implement Lean Principles: Facilitate and implement lean practices to improve flow, eliminate waste, and increase productivity.


Lead Special Projects: Initiate and manage projects focused on improving inventory accuracy, quality, productivity, and safety.


What You Bring

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or Logistics or Supply Chain
  • Minimum of 7 years of manufacturing and warehouse experience
  • Proven people management experience, ideally within manufacturing and/or warehouse operations

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong logical and critical thinking abilities with quantitative analysis skills
  • Advanced interpersonal skills with emphasis on coaching, leadership, and positive employee relations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities-solving abilities
  • Ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple priorities

Technology Proficiency:

  • Advanced knowledge of computer systems, including MS Office
  • Strong proficiency with relational databases and MRP/ERP systems
