Position Summary
The Network Administrator is responsible for installing, maintaining, monitoring, and securing all aspects of MEPPI’s computer and data communication networks across corporate locations. This role ensures high availability, performance optimization, and protection of network infrastructure while supporting business operations in a production environment. The position provides Level 2 support and participates in a 24x7 on-call rotation as needed.
What You’ll Do
Network Infrastructure Management
- Install, configure, and maintain core network equipment including routers, switches, and firewalls across all corporate locations.
- Support LAN and WAN environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Research, recommend, install, and maintain third-party software that supports network infrastructure.
- Propose and implement hardware and software enhancements to improve network performance and system reliability.
Network Security & Compliance
- Recommend, implement, and maintain network security measures to prevent unauthorized access, abuse, or malicious activity.
- Monitor system security to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of accessible information.
- Review daily logs and alerts; conduct regular audits to ensure policies are applied to all in-scope devices.
- Develop and maintain security policies, operational procedures, and disaster recovery documentation.
Monitoring & Support
- Provide primary support for all network infrastructure and security hardware and software.
- Deliver Level 2 support for network-related incidents and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Develop scripts as necessary to support operational requirements and automation initiatives.
- Provide user assistance and technical guidance as required.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation to maintain production environment uptime.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field with a minimum of 3 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Intermediate technical knowledge supported by Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of LAN and WAN configurations, operating system software, security applications, and PC applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees and vendors.
