Training Manager – Switchgear Division
Are you passionate about developing technical talent and building structured, high-impact training programs? Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Training Manager – Switchgear to lead training initiatives that support operational excellence, safety, and business objectives within our Switchgear Division.

This role is responsible for managing training coordinators and technical trainers, developing scalable training programs, and ensuring employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a complex manufacturing and growing environment.


What You’ll Do:

Training Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead and manage the Switchgear Training Center and overall training activities for operations employees.
  • Develop structured training programs aligned to tiered operations personnel levels, including onboarding, cross-training, refresher training, and continuing education.
  • Organize and formalize existing training materials into a cohesive training curriculum for MEPPI service technicians, ASP technicians, and customer personnel.

Team Management & Development

  • Manage and direct training coordinators and technical trainers in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in hiring, performance reviews, and provide input for compensation decisions.
  • Develop and maintain trainer expertise through train-the-trainer initiatives, cross-training, and continuing education.

Program Execution & Coordination

  • Supervise classroom and factory-based group training sessions.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly trainer schedules in alignment with training demands and field service needs.
  • Ensure training programs meet quality, safety, and field service requirements while promoting positive employee relations.
  • Maintain accurate training documentation, procedures, records, and compliance tracking.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Evaluate technical, process, and management changes to assess training impacts and update programs accordingly.
  • Work closely with department managers to identify division-wide and department-specific training and refresher needs.
  • Coordinate internal and external training resources to meet identified requirements.
  • Promote a positive and professional image of the Switchgear Division through effective interaction with customers, vendors, and internal partners.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a role focused on training or educating technical personnel, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Skills & Expertise:
    • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical and electrical components, drawings, and specifications.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Advanced verbal and written communication abilities with strength in group and interpersonal presentations.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Quality Systems.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
